Connecticut can barely keep up with the demand for medical marijuana.

The medical marijuana program in Connecticut is so overwhelmingly successful, that the four growers in the state are having trouble keeping up with the demand according to an article in the Hartford Courant.

The problem is the astounding success of the state's medical marijuana program. When the program began in 2014, there were 2,000 patients, but now there are 25,000. In 2018, the demands far exceed the supply.

There are currently 9 dispensaries in Connecticut with plans for 10 more in the not-too-distant future. Especially in short supply, are the Cannibidiol products known as CBD, which have very little THC.

My son, Ethan James, calls marijuana, his "medicine" because that's exactly what it is, and what he uses it for. He has a medical marijuana card because he suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder, which is accompanied by intense anxiety and PTSD. The medical marijuana helps him cope with both on bad days.

The four growers declined to say how much marijuana they are growing because of proprietary reasons. Advanced Grow Labs in West Haven told the Courant that they have an excellent inventory of CBD products due to the fact they've already expanded twice since it opened in 2014. The CEO of Advanced Grow Labs also told the Courant they were growing four times the amount of marijuana flower than in 2014.
