A Solar Eclipse will be taking place on April 8 and everyone is talking about it.

Many are calling it the "celestial spectacle of a lifetime." If you're unsure what a solar eclipse is, it is when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun and completely blocks the face of the sun. The event is such a big deal because it will be the last total solar eclipse visible in the United States until 2044.

Connecticut Science Center took this as an opportunity to host an Eclipse Viewing Party and I thought that was so smart of them. You will be able to witness the celestial event right from their specially equipped viewing area with solar glasses that will also be included in your ticket.

There will also be engaging activities for your family to deepen your knowledge of the solar system. The Connecticut Science Center will be having STEM educators as well as meteorologists from WFSB channel 3.

Tickets cost $27.99 for adults 18+ and $19.99 for kids under 18. Their website shows that eclipse activities will take part throughout the whole day from 10 AM - 5 PM, but actual eclipse viewing will be from 2 PM - 4:30 PM.

What a great way for kids (and the whole family) to learn about such a cool and important event taking place in front of our very eyes. If you remember, the last solar eclipse took place in 2017. How does this one differ from that one? I looked for some answers.

According to nasa.gov, it says that the 2024 eclipse could be "even more exciting due to differences in the path, timing, and scientific research." The path this year is much wider which will give viewers an even better opportunity to see it.

I'm looking forward to April 8.
