The Connecticut State Police have just announced the arrest of a 23 year old man from New Haven after receiving complaints of a fraternity hazing assault that occurred earlier this year.

According to a press release from the Connecticut State Police and Investigating Trooper Trainee Crawford, Connecticut State Police have arrested 23 year old David Vallejo of New Haven. Vallejo served as the Head Pledge Master, and President, of an unnamed (Redacted) Fraternity at UConn-Storrs. According to the arrest warrant, the CSP investigations started after an unnamed 18 year old UConn student, who had hoped to join the fraternity, filed complaints after a series of hazing assaults that occurred in February 2024.

The victim alleged that the hazing occurred during the fraternity initiation process in the town of Willington, Connecticut in February.

According to the Connecticut State Police, the victim alleges that they were abused, verbally assaulted, and choked on three separate occasions. According to CSP Troop C, the complainant was physically assaulted and choked by Vallejo after failing to do a series of push-ups ordered by Vallejo and other pledge masters of the unnamed frat. Vallejo also allegedly assaulted the complainant the following day after another failed round of push-ups, and yet another assault allegedly occurred when the complainant tried to quit the pledge process and return their fraternity uniform.

Vallejo was taken into custody on 5/3/2024, he's been charged with 3rd Degree Assault, Strangulation/Suffocation-3rd Degree, Assault - 3nd Degree, and Unlawful Restraint - 2nd Degree.
