Holidays Mean Packed Roads – Danbury Police Say Beware and Be Smart
One would think certain rules like fasten your seat belt, don’t drink and drive, don’t text and drive, would be the simple way of life for everyone, but sadly we know how not true that statement is.
Look at the calendar. We are counting down the days to one of the biggest party holidays of the year. Memorial Day weekend is less than two weeks away. Millions of people out on the roads heading to the beaches, the pool parties and the backyard barbecues. Please be safe, and mindful of not only your own life, but the lives of those around you.
The Click It or Ticket Campaign will be in full force in our area.
According to a City of Danbury press release:
The Danbury Police Department will be conducting a Click It or Ticket Campaign. The increased enforcement will take place from 5/22/2017 – 6/4/2017. The Danbury Police Department will ramp up patrolling and be on the lookout for seat belt violations
To anyone who has ever lost a loved one or friend in a car crash, the news of their passing is devastating. To find that they weren’t wearing a seat belt and the outcome might have been different is mind numbing. We never know if that person, if given the chance, would do it differently, but I pray that they would.
The Click It or Ticket campaign aims to make a definite change for the good.
