When I sold my home in 2018, I got rid of most of my stuff through a tag sale. I used to just drive by a yard sale, but after giving away so many items for pennies on the dollar, I realize it's a great opportunity to find something valuable cheap. I stop now, and I'll be going to Watertown in June. Watertown, Connecticut has a town wide tag sale every year, I think it's a great idea, and I wish more of our smaller towns would follow suit.

Watertown Parks & Recreation Department has announced that the 2024 Watertown Town Wide Tag Sale will happen on June 1 this year, with a rain date of Sunday, June 2. As usual, sidewalks, garages, and front lawns all across Watertown will erupt with dusty pieces of "One man's garbage is another man's treasure'. Look at how popular Elephant's Trunk is in New Milford every Sunday, could you imagine if New Milford held an annual town-wide tag sale? Bridgewater, Ridgefield, or Woodbury?

We discussed this topic on the morning show today: In Connecticut's big cities - Waterbury, Danbury, Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport - To dispose of an unwanted item, leave it curbside, and it will disappear, correct? Our big cities have shelters, churches, Goodwill donation centers, and the population in need.

I urge smaller town Connecticut First Selectman and Representatives - Look to Watertown, consider organizing a town wide tag sale in your town. I made close to $500 at my last, and it was freeing disposing of all of those unwanted items.
