Hello believers, Easter comes early this year, it's this Sunday, March 31, 2024. It took me by surprise coming so early. I just found out that yet again, a unique opportunity is happening high atop Waterbury at Holy Land USA: An Easter Sunday, Sunrise Mass.

Waterbury's Holy Land USA has announced on their social media that Father Jim Sullivan of Waterbury's Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, will be celebrating Easter Sunday with an Easter Sunday Sunrise Mass. The Mass will happen high atop Holy Land USA on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, starting at 6:30AM. The gates will open up to the public an hour earlier at 5:30AM. The event is free to attend, and guests are encouraged to dress warm, bring comfortable shoes, and bring a chair if possible. If you've never been to Holy Land USA before, parking is limited, and use 60 Slocum Street - Waterbury for your destination address.

You've seen Holy Land USA's illuminated cross towering over Waterbury for years, every time you go through along Rt. 8 or I-84. Waterbury has recently used Holy Land USA as the launching pad for their annual 4th of July, and New Year's Eve fireworks displays for the past few years, with onlookers filling up the usually-empty Brass Mill Mall parking lot to take in the show. The mall parking lot will be empty this Sunday morning, but you should have quite a view of the Naugatuck Valley and Brass City when you reach the top. The early forecast? Partly sunny skies, with lows in the upper 30's.
