When Hurricane Harvey ripped through southeast Texas during the end of August of 2017, Danbury Texas found themselves under 12 inches of rain.

Danbury Connecticut Mayor, Mark Boughton asked residents if they would step up to help out our sister city in Danbury, Texas. The devastation and the flooding due to 12 inches of rain and 130 mph winds were catastrophic. Danbury citizens stepped up with donations of bottled water, non-perishable food items, baby items, and hygiene products that were sent to help with the recovery.

On March 9 the Danbury Fire Department welcomed a surprise guest, Bailey Raye from our sister city, Danbury Texas. Bailey stopped by to personally thank the City of Danbury and the Danbury CT Fire Department for lending a much-needed helping hand during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Here is what Bailey wrote on her FB page.

I had the best pleasure of meeting a few of the amazing firefighters that put together the greatest act of kindness for my hometown. I got to be the face of our town today and thank them personally for their donations.
