Victims in Fatal Connecticut Cliff Fall Were Father and Son

A tragic accident in Connecticut has unfortunately claimed the lives of both a father and his son.

According to WFSB, 71-year-old Steven Price of Forestville and his 30-year-old son, Mark Price of Plainville, fell from what's been described as a 75-foot cliff in an abandoned quarry located at 232 Colt Highway in Farmington.

Police say dispatchers received a 911 call just before 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening (September 19) from an eyewitness who had been reportedly riding ATVs with the two Prices in the quarry.

NBC reports that the witness told both dispatchers and police had stopped riding for a bit and at that point, Steven Price tripped while standing near the edge of the cliff. When he tripped, his son Mark reached out to grab him and that's when they both fell.

When police arrived, the person who called in the emergency reportedly had to lead the officers to the victims' location because of the quarry's terrain.

Farmington police noted that the deaths of Steven and Mark Price appear to be accidental and as the investigation continues, anyone who may have any additional information is urged to call Detective Sergeant Stephen Egan at 860-675-2414.
