This time of year, there's a thin line between rain and snow, and tonight and tomorrow we'll see that first hand.

There is a Winter Weather Advisory issued for some parts of Connecticut for tonight and early tomorrow, so if you're in Litchfield County, you may see some snow and an ice glaze. Also, as much as three inches of snow could occur. If you're in other parts of Greater Danbury, however, it may be more of a rain event with little accumulation of snow or ice.

According to the National Weather Service, a storm system from the south will affect our weather tonight and for the morning commute tomorrow.

If you travel down county towards the shoreline, it will definitely be all rain, as temperatures are expected to stay well above freezing.

For most of us around the Danbury area, we can expect a chance of rain, snow, and sleet before 11:00 PM, then rain and sleet between 11:00 AM and 2:00 AM, then all rain after 2:00 AM, with temperatures getting down to the mid 30s over night.

If you're in Litchfield County or some of the other northern areas of the state, you're looking at snow before 2:00 AM, then a mix of snow and sleet between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM with temp's staying right at or a little below freezing.

After that, we're in for a big chill as a cold front pushes through dropping temperatures to the single digits by Friday night. Sunny, but cold weather is on tap for the weekend too.
