Sad news to report, as a local woman was killed in a crash that involved two vehicles on Friday (October 4).

According to the Connecticut State Police, 37-year-old Pamela Sheehan of Newtown was headed southbound in a 2014 Toyota 4Runner on Southford Rd in Southbury, CT around 3:45 PM on Friday afternoon when her vehicle collided with a Peterbilt Conventional 330 tractor trailer, which was headed northbound in the opposite direction.

Police identified the operator of the truck as 44-year-old Christopher Hannan of Southbury.

While details are sparse at this time, the crash remains under investigation, and anyone who may have witnessed or has any information about the crash is urged to call Officer Critelli of the Southbury Police Department at 203-264-5912.

Sheehan's death is one of three vehicle-related fatalities that happened in our local area on Friday. In two separate incidents, a Brookfield woman was killed while walking along Candlewood Lake Road, while an accident in Danbury claimed the life of a Cincinnati woman as she was attempting to cross Federal Road.
