UPDATE: While both of the lanes were reopened as of about 8:30 AM Thursday, it's been reported that the accident is still causing delays on I-84 West.

An early morning crash has caused two lanes to be blocked on I-84 in Danbury.

According to the Connecticut State Police at Troop A in Southbury, two of the westbound lanes in the area of exit four are closed as of this writing, due to an accident that occurred in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, June 13.

Contrary to initial reports, police say there was no car fire caused by the crash, but that troopers are on the scene, investigating the matter.

A report by WTNH says that one of the two vehicles involved in the crash was found in the woods along I-84 west and that police are searching for the driver of that vehicle as part of this morning's investigation.

This is a developing story and we'll be sure to keep you updated as we receive more information from the Connecticut State Police and the Department of Transportation.
