This New Milford nursing home is in big trouble with the state Department of Public Health.

According to CT Post, on June 14, 2019, two patients were located by a dietary aide walking around outside of the Village Crest Center for Health and Rehabilitation in New Milford. One of those residents had fallen and was a flight risk. Village Crest was fined $10,000 for two violations. The average cost of a private room is $9,155.

On June 28, 2019, at Watertown Convalarium six residents wandered away including one with dementia. Another patient had a psychotic disorder and anxiety. They were fined $9,260. The average cost of a private room is $7,908. Middlebury Convalescent Home and Grove Manor Nursing Home were also fined for violations by the Department of Public Health.

Middlebury Convalescent runs $10,189 per month for a private room which is $340 per day and Grove Manor comes in at $9,581 per month or $391 per day. In 2019, the average cost per day for a semi-private room in a Connecticut nursing home is $357. Don't you think for that kind of money I shouldn't have to worry about wandering down Poplar Street in New Milford?
