A man allegedly shot his wife at Westchester Medical Center on Wednesday, August 8.

shots fired at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. It was reported that it was an alleged murder-suicide on the fourth floor. It has been confirmed, via Twitter, that the fourth floor is the Intensive Care Unit at Westchester Medical Center.

Lohud has now reported that a man allegedly shot his wife to death while she was in bed, and then shot himself to death. Both of them were in their 70s. At a press conference, Westchester County Public Safety Commissioner Tom Gleason said that the two were later pronounced dead. No one else was injured.

It's reported by Lohud that hospital staff said the man walked into his wife's room, shot her, then shot himself. No one else was in the room while it happened.

NBC New York reports that a .38 caliber revolver was used. Authorities have not confirmed if a note was left behind or how many rounds were fired. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
