Little Pub Set to Open Shoreline Location in Popular Restaurant Building

While the Greater Danbury version of Little Pub is no longer on Route 7 in Ridgefield, the beloved line of unique restaurants is set to open up a new location along Connecticut's shoreline.

After a series of clever social media posts from the folks over at Little Pub, in which a blurred image continued to be unveiled over the course of the past few weeks, ground has officially been broken on the transformation of the building formerly known as Marnick's, a very popular waterfront restaurant in Stratford that was a staple for decades.

The owners of all four other Little Pub locations, Doug and Daneen Grabe, have long had their eyes on opening a Stratford location, according the Patch. So when Marnick's abruptly shuttered its doors in July of 2018, it opened up the perfect opportunity for the successful husband and wife team.

Aside from the unique fare and atmosphere that all of the Little Pub locations have become known for, the Stratford restaurant will also reportedly serve breakfast. That is mainly due to the fact that breakfast is one of the main features that its predecessor, Marnick's, had become famous for.

In addition to the completely revamped interior of the restaurant, the Stratford location will be unique in that the property is accompanied by a 29-room hotel, formerly known as the Rodeway Inn. Much like the new version of Little Pub itself, Patch reports that the hotel will be redesigned with a very unique flair. Doug Grabe's sister Laura is reportedly in charge of the new designs and says that each of the new rooms will be completely different from one another.

The news of the new Little Pub location comes about five months after their restaurant in Ridgefield closed its doors for good following a fantastic 10-year run serving Greater Danbury. The charming Route 7 location is the soon-to-be home of Marc's Place, a bistro and gastro pub owned by Herve Assavis.
