Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Danbury Area + Putnam County
A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for a few local areas including Greater Danbury and Putnam County.
According to the National Weather Service, Connecticut's Fairfield and Northern New Haven Counties, as well as New York's Putnam, Rockland and Westchester Counties could see some really nasty conditions later today, as "damaging winds, large hail and isolated flash flooding" are all possible this afternoon and into the evening on Wednesday, August 7.
If the severe storms are in fact headed our way, the NWS predicts that they'll happen between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and will include heavy rainfall that amount up to three quarters of an inch.
If the hail starts falling from the sky, it's definitely best to head inside, and if you should so happen to be driving while those misshapen balls of solid precipitation begin to make their unwelcome appearance, be sure to pull over to the side of the road and remain inside the vehicle.
As for tomorrow's forecast, things are looking a lot less grim with partly sunny skies and a high near 84 degrees.
