It seems like just yesterday I was there for the ground breaking for the new Brookfield Village, now tomorrow (Friday) they are having the official ribbon cutting ceremony.

The first phase of the Brookfield downtown rejuvenation project is complete, now town officials will gather at 11 am on Friday (June 1) to celebrate and cut the ribbon marking the grand opening.

According to patch.com, the first phase of this three phase project included the construction of two of the four new buildings that feature luxury housing and commercial property. Subway and Rich Farm are already in and open to the public. The project also included installing sidewalks, lampposts, curbing and other infrastructure right at the intersection of Federal and Station roads.

The next phase of the project will begin soon, and will create something Brookfield residents have waited a long time for, an actual downtown area.
