It was 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning, October 30 when a 911 call was received about a suspicious car pulled off on the bridge span.

According to an article in the Putnam Daily Voice, the suspicious vehicle was pulled over on the span of the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Sheriff's deputies found the car abandoned by a 76-year-old Rhinecliff man. That man had gotten out of his car and jumped into the Hudson River.

Patrol boats were dispatched by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. At 12:25 p.m., divers had located the jumper's body which was turned over to the Dutchess County Medical Examiner. You can always call The National Suicide Prevention  Hotline at 1-877-485-8700.
