Once again this year, it's time to celebrate Sandy Hook with a special free concert on the Sandy Hook Village Green. It all starts at 6 pm, and this year's headliner is Braiden Sunshine, who was a semi-finalist on NBC's The Voice.

This Sunday the forecast in Newtown is for "Sunshine", as a 2015 fan favorite and semi-finalist on NBC’s The Voice, Braiden Sunshine will be appearing and performing as part of Celebrate Sandy Hook.

Braiden, who calls Lyme, CT home, will also be performing with students from Reed Intermediate School and Jockey Hollow Middle School. The evening will conclude with a special rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” performed by Braiden with all of the students.

It's all made possible by the Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP).

SHOP President Mike Burton told newtownbee.com that everyone is invited “to come and celebrate Sandy Hook and its unique historic heritage and beautiful natural setting.”

Concertgoers can dine in one of the restaurants, do some local shopping, then pull up a chair by the riverside and enjoy the music. Bringing a picnic dinner is encouraged.

We got a chance to have Braiden Sunshine on the show with us on Thursday morning, and we got the lowdown on Braiden, and his Voice experience. Here's how it went:
