Attorney Agrees to Pilot Jet From Danbury Airport to Transport Cocaine

Drug smugglers, private jets, and the Danbury Airport. Do I have your attention?!

Follow me here. In 2011, Attorney Anthony Macaluso successfully defended Casey Anthony when she was accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter in Florida. The trial captivated the country.

According to the NewsTimes, two years ago that same lawyer, Macaluso, got himself involved in a drug-running operation, got himself arrested, and was found guilty for participating in an international drug ring and was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.

What came out at Macaluso's trial was like a plot line from a cheesy drug cartel movie. According to court documents, the attorney agreed to use a Falcon 10 jet from the Danbury Airport to move $13 million worth of cocaine to Honduras in Central America.

While the Falcon 10 jet waited at the Danbury Airport for the drug smugglers, who were flying in from Haiti, the feds were tipped off by a confidential informant that the transport of 1,500 kilograms of cocaine was going down. The private jet, owned by the Maule Group in Danbury was never actually used by the drug smuggling operation, but it was confiscated by federal authorities as part of their investigation. As it turns out, Macaluso used to be part owner of the Falcon 10 corporate jet, but is now serving his time in federal prison.
