Oh, the things that make us proud!

Each state in the union has some amazing things that they are proud of. Estately.com recently posted a list of each state and the records they hold. My curiosity was piqued. Let's take a look.

Of course, I had to look at CT first and I found that our lovely state holds the record for the largest wedding cake and the largest collection of Souvenir Plates. Hmmmm, I didn't find those all that intriguing. Maybe the wedding cake thing is cool but if you lived in Alaska, you would probably be wearing a t-shirt that said "We grow 'em big here! Alaska - home of the World Heaviest Cabbage." I mean, what beats that?

Shortest cat honors go to the California kitty named Lilieput, who is just 5.25 inches tall. But the distinction of the smallest cat goes to Illinois' TInker Toy, who towered at 2.75 inches tall. Maybe you don't care but you should know me by meow, I will insert a cat wherever I can. =^..^=

Hawaii has the largest collection of surfboards. Well duh! Which other state would have that distinction? Nebraska? Arizona? I think not. But did you know that Hawaii is also home to the Largest Spam Musubi? I'll bet you didn't know that. I'll bet you don't even know what a Musubi is. That's ok, neither do I. But in my never-ending quest for knowledge, and love of Google, I....uh.....googled and found out that it's kind of like a spam sushi. Gross. There's 15 seconds I'll never get back.

Iowa is the proud home of the Largest hokey pokey dance (yawn) and Kansas holds the national record on the largest tonsils. I was going to post the picture but these puppies are not for the faint of heart.

Tomorrow, I'll tell you which state has the most expensive dessert and which state is home to the Mashed Potato Wrestling Championships. I know, you can't wait, can you?
