A new public service announcement designed to recruit volunteers to the many fire departments across the state has just been launched. The 90 second youtube video shows many people from various walks of life. From students to moms to retirees, the film is designed to entice and recruit anyone who wants to help out their community.

The video was directed by Matthew Troy with help from by the Connecticut Volunteer Workforce Solutions team, the Connecticut Fire Chiefs Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs.

If you have ever thought of becoming a volunteer fire fighter or wondered what it takes to join your community fire department, this video highlights that no matter who you are, if you want to make a difference, all you have to do is take the first step. Everydayheroct.org has more information on how to get started, training programs and who to contact.
