Danbury Police continue the quest to keep drugs off the street.

Another arrest went down late last week, due to the continued investigative diligence of our local police, as well as ongoing complaints from community members.

In a press release from the City of Danbury Police Department, on Sept. 28, 2017, members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (S.I.D.) and members of the Community Conditions Unit (CCU) executed court authorized search and seizure warrants for the basement apartment of a residence on 7 Stillman Ave, in  Danbury, the persons of Bernardo Albarran and Nixalyz Callazo and the cell phones of both of them.

Weeks earlier, citizens complained that Albarran and Callazo were selling illegal drugs from the apartment. Danbury Police issued warrants as a result of an investigation based on surveillance of the residence investigators detected activity consistent with a drug trafficking conspiracy. As a result, search and seizure warrants were issued by the Superior Court.

Police say that both Bernardo Albarran and Nixalyz Callazo were found to be in possession of illegal drugs packaged for sale, drug paraphernalia and a substantial amount of US currency. They were both arrested and have been charged with, among other things, possession of controlled substances, possession of narcotics, and possession of controlled substance within 1500' of a prohibited place.
