According to a major travel company, this is the worst day for holiday travel.

Planes, trains, and automobiles will all be packed with travelers for the 2018 holiday season. But more so on one specific day out of the entire year than the rest of the season. Thursday, December 20, 2018, will be the worst day to travel, according to Triple A.

AAA reports that one in three Americans will travel during the holiday season. On Thursday, December 20, traffic delays could peak at 4 times during the day. They also report that the delays could cause your trip to be up to 4 times the normal length. 112.5 million travelers will be traversing the U.S. during the holiday season this year, that's a lot of accidents, traffic, and delays waiting to happen.

Closest to the Hudson Valley, New York City was ranked the second worst city to travel in on Thursday, December 20. The worst time to travel, according to AAA, is 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. With trips being delayed up ti 3.75 times.

As if Thursday, December 20, wasn't the worst day to travel already, a major rainstorm is expected to hit the Hudson Valley then. As of Wednesday evening, Weather.com was calling for a 60% chance of rain during the day on Thursday, and a 100% chance of rain Thursday night. Temperatures will hit a high of 46 tomorrow and a low of 38, so it's unlikely icing will be an issue.
