Once upon a time, there was a family that moved into an old residence known as the Hallahan House in Southington, and as legend has it, things got creepy fast.

A movie about the Hallahan House and the Snedecker family titled, The Haunting in Connecticut was released back in 2009 and didn't do too badly at the box office. Check out the trailer:

The movie was said to be based on a true story, depending on which side of the truth you believe. The skeptics and naysayers say that the story about what happened to the Snedeker family was pure bunk, and was totally concocted for the sole purpose of generating money from the making of the movie. It would certainly be much more fun and terrifying if all of what happened in that house was true.

The Snedeker family moved into the house on Meriden Ave. in Southington so they could be closer to a hospital where their son was receiving treatment for cancer. They were aware the house was a former mortuary and according to an article written in People magazine back in August of 2009, the mom, Carmen Reed, said that their son told her within three hours of moving in:

Mom, this house is evil, we need to leave here right away!

The family, which included Carmen's three kids, her husband, and two nieces lived in the house for 20 years and claimed there was a malevolent force which took different forms that would slap, grope, and threaten members of the family. Reed claims that her 18-year-old niece once told her:

Aunt Carmen it's coming, can you feel it?!

Carmen said she then saw the impression of a hand going up her niece's nightshirt and knew they were dealing with the supernatural. What do you think? Was it fact or was it fiction? Or maybe it was a journey into the Twilight Zone:
