Patch.com has reported data from an annual report from the Connecticut Racial Profiling Project. This report shows the results of police stops from October 2015 through September 2016.

The top 5 reasons for getting stopped in Danbury are:

  2. New Canaan: 456 stops per 1,000 residents
  3. Ridgefield 441 stops per 1,000 residents

  6. Ansonia: 341 stops per 1,000 residents
  7. Berlin: 327 stops per 1,000 residents

The report also listed the following towns who showed the least amount of traffic stops by police:

  1. Middlebury: 10 stops per 1,000 residents

  3. Portland: 27 stops per 1,000 residents
  4. Wolcott: 29 stops per 1,000 residents
  5. Waterbury: 38 stops per 1,000 residents
  6. Meriden: 43 stops per 1,000 residents
  7. Stratford: 48 stops per 1,000 residents

If you like to drive fast, don't drive through the following towns thinking that you won't get pulled over. The percentages shown are the amount of stops for speeding.

  1. Ledyard: 67.9%
  2. Suffield: 60.8%
  3. Simsbury: 56.9%
  4. Easton: 55.9%
  5. Portland: 55.3%
  6. New Milford: 54.9%
  7. Enfield: 53.5%
  8. Guilford: 53%
  9. Redding: 52.4%
  10. Ridgefield: 52.3%

Expired registration? Stay out of these towns where the percentages shown are for stops for registration issues:

  2. North Branford: 23.1%
