State Report: Danbury School Ranking Lower Than Previous Year

The scholastic year of 2016-2017 was not so great for our state schools. Districts saw a drop in test scores around Connecticut. It appears as though Danbury did not do as well as they had hoped. Patch.com reports that while Danbury Schools were trying to come up from their 72.6 ranking of the previous year. Unfortunately, their current ranking sta saw that score go down to 70.3.

The state of Connecticut uses a grading system which is quite similar to the way most schools grade their own students, from 0 to 100. It takes into account many factors in order to reach a final classification. New Canaan Schools saw the highest numbers with a 89.1 score while the lowest score went to New Britain School System at 55.7

73 per cent of the schools in the state saw numbers lower than the year before. 201 districts are judged by looking at test scores, graduation rates, graduates that enrolled into college, advanced placement classes and even attendance records.
