Last night (October 30) a man was killed while running across Interstate 95. WFSB.com reports that Connecticut State Police have identified the man as 34-year-old Rafael Arroyo Rivera of New Haven.

At about 10:30pm, a tractor trailer that was in the center southbound lane struck Rivera as he ran across the highway with another person. The truck did not stop and police are now looking for the driver of the truck which is described as a white tractor trailer with brown lettering. The accident happened near Exit 51 closing the highway for more than five hours.

Two East Haven police cruisers assisting State Police in the investigation were hit by another tractor trailer. K9 Ace was inside one of the cars that were parked on Frontage Road, thankfully, Ace was not hurt and no other injuries were reported.
