Two sisters who worked in Connecticut School Cafeterias were arrested and are facing charges of larceny and fraud.

NewCanaanNewsOnline.com reports that 61-year-old Joanne Pascarelli of Stratford and 67-year-old Marie Wilson of Wilton turned themselves in to police this weekend after learning that there were warrants issued for their arrest. Pascarelli and Wilson are former cafeteria workers for the New Canaan School System. The charges stem from an investigation which says they allegedly stole $478,588 from Saxe Middle School and New Canaan High School from 2012 to 2017.

The theft may have been going on for a lot longer than 5 years, but due to statutes of limitations, investigators were limited to only go back to 2012. The sisters  were both placed on leave and then resigned in December of 2017 after the Board of Education began an investigation of missing money.

Pascarelli and Wilson were released on $50,000 bond each. Both are scheduled to appear in court to face their charges later on this month.
