A seaplane made a rough landing near Chicken Rock on Candlewood Lake and immediately was in trouble.

The New Milford Spectrum says that the seaplane attempted to land in Candlewood Lake waters on the New Fairfield/Sherman border, just off from Chicken Rock's location on Deer Island. DEEP officials say the seaplane didn't crash, but the landing was very rough, and began taking on water immediately. Luckily, the two passengers escaped injury thanks to the help of a passing boater.

Connecticut State Police were called in to assist the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to determine the cause of the accident. State Police are asking if there were any eyewitnesses to this seaplane's landing on the lake around 4 pm this past Friday afternoon, to please call State Police Troop A headquarters at 203-267-2200.
