I love trains. I love riding them. Throw Santa and Mrs.Claus into the mix, and I think that's a total win.

Here's a little bit of a holiday plan for you and the kids. Actually it's so much fun, I think even without children this will put you in the holiday spirit.

One of the gems of Danbury is the train station and the Danbury Railway Museum in the restored 1903 depot, formerly known as Union Station. Did you know that according to the museum, the station is on the National Historic Register.

The museum, located at the train station, 120 White Street in Danbury houses not only displays but also numerous operating model train layouts, vintage railroad cars, a gift shop and more.

For the holidays they offer the Santa Train on Dec. 10, 11, 17, & 18. The train ride will ends with a stop at Santa’s private railcar, “Toyland,” where visitors will be greeted aboard by Santa, Mrs. Claus and Santa’s helpers.

You can call 203-778-8337 during regular business hours for more info.

You can go online to Danbury Railway Museum for times and info.

All aboard for some holiday glee.
