Nature and all it has to offer is a beautiful thing. Here's a chance for you to be a part of a Connecticut trail from the ground up.

There is, without a doubt, many things to complain about in the state of Connecticut. But one of the shining highlights of the state is much of it's natural beauty and fabulous walking and hiking trails. Nothing clears your cranky head quite like being outdoors taking a leisurely stroll or an invigorating hike.

Do you know about the Norwalk River Valley Trail project and its existing trails? You can click on nrvt-trail.com to see what is already available to you.

There is the Norwalk to Danbury section. There is what's dubbed the Wilton Loop and also a trail specific to the Norwalk area.

In a story from newstimes.com, the Norwalk River Valley Trail’s initial section in Ridgefield, which has gotten the name of the Ridgefield Ramble, is looking for monetary support. Some donations are already rolling in. The Rotary Club of Ridgefield donated the first $1,000 to help with the $20,000 Trail Plan for the Norwalk River Valley Trail’s section in Ridgefield, and then another $5,500 was donated from families and businesses towards the cost.

For hiking, walking, and outdoor enthusiasts, the Ridgefield Ramble will be a two-mile section of the NRVT heading north from the intersection of Simpaug Turnpike and Route 7, up to Bobby’s Court on the Ridgefield/Redding line. This portion that runs along the Norwalk River, is a combination of state and conservation property.

Charlie Taney, executive director of the NRVT told the News Times:

We’re already one-third of the way towards our $20,000 goal for the Trail Plan. It’s great to see the enthusiasm for the NRVT here in Ridgefield

No donation is too small when you are working on a project of this type. As you eventually enjoy the scenery and beauty along the Ridgefield Ramble and any other portion of the Norwalk River Valley Trail, think of how extra special it will be if you contributed to the cause.
