One of the biggest debates going on now in the political world and business world is the decision on whether or not to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

According to Lo Hud, The National Restaurant Association filed an opposition to New York State's Industrial Board of Appeals asking to undo an order from the state Department of Labor introducing a $15/hr minimum wage at fast-food chains like McDonald’s.

The vocal critics of the minimum-wage increase, which would go up in increments to $15/hour by July 2021, faced a deadline of Monday to file an appeal of the change. The current minimum wage is $8.75 per hour across New York State.

Many local business owners say they can't afford this increase in pay, along with health insurance costs rising as well. The thought comes from politicians saying that people should be able to make ends meet and raise a family under a minimum wage job.

If this actually happens in New York State, or anywhere across the country, I would expect these businesses like fast food chains to reduce weekly hours for their employees to subsidize the cost. What would happen to the McDonald's Dollar Menu if $15/hr is brought to life?
