Two local residents were arrested in an underage drinking sting conducted by New York State Police on Friday.

According to a press release from the New York State Police, one Danbury man, 18-year-old Nube M. Yunganaula, who works at the Shell Gas Station on Route 22 in North Salem, and 63-year-old Julie Lombardi from Katonah, an employee at Acme Supermarket in Lewisboro, were both arrested and charged with a violation of the State Alcohol and Beverage Control Law.

The sting operation, which sends an underage agent in to various businesses to see if they will be sold alcohol, was conducted at various locations in New York on Friday, and both suspects were nabbed selling alcohol to a minor.

The undercover agent was denied alcohol at eight other locations:

Goldens Bridge Fine Wine and Spirits, DeCiccos Supermarket in Cross River, Somers Mobil Mart, Front Street Cellar Wines, Croton Falls, Cross River Wine and Spirits, Cross River Shell Station Mini Mart, Cameron's Deli in Cross River, and 7-Eleven in Somers.

Both suspects were also issued an appearance ticket to appear in their town court for a upcoming hearing.
