State Troopers found a Connecticut man unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle in possession of a loaded gun, and drugs. 

At approximately 12:45 a.m. Saturday, responded to a welfare check at the intersection of State Route 6 and Starr Ridge Road in the Town of Southeast.

Upon arrival, troopers found Peter T. Shirvell, age 22, of Ridgefield, Connecticut unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle near the entrance to a Shell Gas Station.

Shirvell was found to be intoxicated, and when troopers attempted to take him into custody, he physically resisted.

Shirvell was also found to be in possession of an illegal loaded firearm, and a small amount of cocaine.

He was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon second-degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Disorderly Conduct

Shirvell was arriagned and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.

He is scheduled back in court next month.
