Police: Danbury Woman Robbed Gas Station at Knifepoint
A Danbury woman was allegedly up early on the Fourth of July, but not to get ready for holiday festivities. Police say that she held up a gas station at knifepoint.
According to a press release from the Danbury Police Department, just before 8:00 am on July 4, 2018, Elizabeth Saparato allegedly walked into the Exxon gas station on North Main Street in Danbury with a knife and threatened the attendant in the store.
Police say she made off with a bunch of cash and was no where in sight when police arrived. Investigators pulled the store's video surveillance, however, and say they positively identified the 30-year-old Danbury woman. Further evidence was sufficient for Danbury Superior Court to issue a warrant for her arrest. On Tuesday (July 10) Saparato was arrested at her home and brought to the Danbury Police Department. The following three charges have been filed against her:
- First Degree Robbery
- First Degree Unlawful Restraint
- Sixth Degree Larceny
Saparato is being held at the Danbury Police Department on $50,000 bond.
