Are you in arrears on your Connecticut taxes? This news could help you out.

Taxes. We hate them, but still have to pay them.

Connecticut is giving people who owe back taxes a chance to pay their debt to the state with some savings to your bottom line. Hey, it's better for the state to get some money rather than none, so here's the deal that's being offered.

The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services wants individuals and businesses to know about the CT Fresh Start program which waives penalties and reduces interest to individuals and businesses who pay outstanding taxes to the state.

The posting at ct.gov states the following:

The program provides incentives to taxpayers to voluntarily come forward and pay their unreported tax liabilities. You may be eligible if you failed to file a return, or failed to report the full amount of tax on a previously filed return for any tax return due on or before December 31, 2016.

You know that the tax man is going to find you and eventually get the money from you, so you might want to take a look into this program. So for more info on CT Fresh Start read the Frequently Asked Questions or call the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services at  1-877-729-6691.
