The New York State Police issued 73 tickets in 6 hours on Friday. 

On Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. the New York State Police conducted a Distracted Driving Detail on I-684 in Westchester.

During the six-hour distracted driving detail state police issued 73 tickets to drivers. Drivers were ticketed for many reasons, ranging from speeding to seatbelt violations. These were the results of the detail:

  • Speeding Tickets - 22
  • Move Over Law Tickets - 21
  • Other V&T Law Tickets -19
  • Texting While Driving Tickets - 7
  • Cell Phone Tickets - 3
  • Seatbelt Tickets -1

Total: 73

The State Police have been cracking down on distracted drivers as well as drivers who are intoxicated or impaired throughout the state. This week State Police made 242 arrests for DWI and issued 11,000 tickets over the course of five days.

The efforts of the State Police are saving lives throughout the state. They should be commended for all their hard work to keep the roadways safe.
