As if it's not bad enough driving around New Milford with all the traffic.

Between Route 202, Wellsville Avenue, and Poplar Street, it can take a long time getting from one spot to another. Well, get ready for even more delays starting in June. Driving around New Milford is going to get a little tougher.

Starting in June, bridge repair work will start on the East Aspetuck River Bridge.

According to patch.com, the Town of New Milford was awarded a contract to finally do renovation repairs on the bridge, which is on a very heavily traveled portion of Wellsville Avenue.

The construction is expected to start in June and portions of Wellsville Avenue will be closed while the work is being done.

The project is expected to be completed by the winter, but if it get's delayed, construction will continue in the spring, so it could be awhile before traffic in that area gets back to normal.

The total cost of the project will be more then $1.1 million, and will be paid for by a state grant.
