A few months ago, we reported that the Book Nook in New Milford was going to close unless they got a buyer by February 11. Well, today, we're happy to report that the popular bookstore will not be closing for good, as a new owner has been found.

The good news was posted last week on the store's Facebook page:

The new owners are local, from Brookfield, and stepped up once they learned the Bookstore would be closing for good.

One of the new owners explained why they bought the book store:

We were looking for a local business opportunity, plus we didn't want to see the Book Nook close. It's an important part of New Milford, and we wanted it to be a part of the community for years to come.

Right now, they are in the middle of renovating the store and restocking the shelves for their opening this Thursday. The big grand opening celebration will happen on Saturday, March 31. The Book Nook is located right on Bank Street in New Milford, next to the Bank Street Theater.
