Police: New Fairfield Man Busted for Driving 114 MPH in Vermont
Damn. This Connecticut resident showed some serious need for speed. But honestly, dude, you aren't trying out for the Grand Prix.
Sometimes, you just can't help having a bit of a lead foot when you drive. I'm guilty, for sure, of speeding, even though I know it's against the law, but what this Connecticut resident did is the very definition of excessive. Thank God this guy didn't lose control and hurt anyone.
A press release from the Vermont State Police cites a young man from New Fairfield with a bit more than a lead foot. 20-year-old Jordan Fairchild has been accused of driving 114 miles per hour on an interstate highway in Vermont.
According to the release, on December 11, 2017, Troopers from the Royalton Barracks stopped Fairchild for traveling at 114 mph in a 65 mph zone. The violation is for Careless and Negligent Operation of a vehicle.
Fairchild was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor Superior Court Criminal Division to answer to the offense.
Honestly, I've driven that section of I-89 tons of times on my way to visit family in Essex Junction, Vermont. The sweeps and turns and straight-aways might let you think you should floor it, but I also know how diligent the Vermont State Troopers are, and it's never a good idea. Stay safe!
