Breathing new life into the entertainment and tourism scene in Connecticut can't ever be a bad thing. Here's what we have to look forward to:

Bridgeport — Connecticut's seaport city, Connecticut's largest city, and Connecticut's often maligned city, continues to strive to be one of the shinning stars of the Connecticut landscape. To that end, there was just a very exciting piece of news announced by one of the state's major players in entertainment and tourism, the Mohegan Sun.

A release from the Mohegan Sun at newsroom.mohegansun.com reveals that Mohegan Sun just announced an exclusive partnership with the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Tom Cantone, Senior Vice President of Sports & Entertainment for Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment said the following in the release:

This is an exciting day as two of the strongest entertainment venues in the state join forces. We have had an open relationship with Webster Bank Arena for years and this agreement is a further extension of the long-term partnership we look forward to having with them

Hopes are high for more exciting things to do in the seaport city. Kevin Brown “Red Eagle,” Chairman of the Mohegan Tribe and MGE Management Board said:

Today’s announcement is more than just a partnership with the Webster Bank Arena. It’s a demonstration of our commitment to bringing tourism to all of Connecticut, not just the southeastern corner. It is a commitment to Bridgeport, a city rich in history and culture, to help with the growth and rebirth of the Park City

I'm looking forward to seeing what this new partnership can mean for Connecticut overall.
