Connecticut is home to two casinos, with plans on the table for more. Now it appears as if legalized sports gaming could become a reality sooner than later too. In a story from ctpost.com, leaders of the Connecticut legislature are planning to push for the legalization of sports betting in the state this year.

House Speaker Joe Aresimowicz told ctpost.com

Senator Martin Looney, the state Senate president pro-tem, added:

I believe that Connecticut should move very speedily ahead on sports betting if we are authorized to do so by the U.S. Supreme Court. We need additional sources of revenue

It comes as no surprise to me that with our state in deep doo-doo with major budget issues, that sports gaming would potentially bring big bucks into the state coffers. But as you can see from the article in ctpost.com the pros and cons will keep this debated heated for quite some time.
