The team that came to prominence in the 1988 Winter Olympics, and even had a movie based on their lives, is hoping for your help as they look towards the 2018 Winter Olympics.

I know we aren't even to Winter of 2017 yet, but, hey, the Olympics do stir up excitement, and with Pyeongchang, South Korea the spot of the 2018 games, I'm thinking excitement isn't even quite the word for it.

With that said, the team that helped to inspire the 1993 movie Cool Runnings is hard at work trying to qualify for the Olympics, and here's how Connecticut can play a part. Turns out, they have to compete at a number of required events all around the world to make the qualification, and that of course, takes money and support.

Winter Olympics are coming and you can help be a part of history. Here's how.

Join My Connections on Saturday Oct. 7 to help the Jamaican Bobsled Team become a part of Winter Olympic history once again. The fundraising event will include food, entertainment, live and silent auction items, as well as not only some of the original team members but current ones too.

It's being held at the Hartford / Windsor Marriot on 28 Day Hill Road in Windsor Connecticut. and you can get info and buy tickets at myconnectionsllc.com

And to learn more about the team go to jamaicanbobsled.com

It would be very cool indeed to cheer them on in 2018, knowing that you had a hand in their quest.
