A Florida woman has been charged with sending death threats to a parent of one of the slain victims of the Sandy Hook shooting. The accused female claims the Sandy Hook tragedy was a hoax.

According to Federal authorities and nbcconnecticut.com, the woman in question allegedly made the threats to the victim's parent because she was disturbed by the fact that she thinks the entire tragedy that happened in December of 2012 was a hoax. The victim's parent now lives in South Florida.

According to nbcconnecticut.com's report, Lucy Richards, 57, of Tampa was arrested and charged with four counts of transmitting threats. Each charge carries a maximum term of five years in prison.

No other reasons were given for the threats except that Ms. Roberts claimed the 2012 shootings, that killed 20 children and six adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School never happened.

Roberts, who is now in police, custody awaits an initial court appearance Dec. 19.
