Danbury Dives Into the Deep Freeze This Weekend

The Weather of Steve Turk tells us that New York City will get down to 0 to 5 degrees above zero before the wind chill factors in this weekend. What does that mean for Western Connecticut?

IT'S COMING! It will start to creep into our area on Friday night, with a 30% chance of snow and numbing cold temperatures. The National Weather Service is calling for lows around 11 degrees on Friday night. On Saturday, the high will be only 20 degrees, and then the low on Saturday night will reach 0 biting degrees.

This is where I learned my lesson that when you fail to keep the garage door closed during an arctic freeze, the stored water in the water pump will freeze overnight making for a sucky morning of burst pipes.

Sunday's forecast calls for sunshine and the high only reaching 13 degrees, and then down to 4 above on Sunday night. Monday's high will be a sub-tropical 27 degrees. Remember this simple rule when intense cold weather strikes. Store your beer outside, but keep your pets nice and warm inside!
