This is FANTASTIC news from CVS Health Corporation, which is purchasing Hartford Connecticut based Aetna Insurance.

According to the Hartford Courant, an official statement was released that Aetna is to remain in Hartford, which has been its home since 1853.

The worry was that Aetna was moving out of state, and most recently attempted to headquarter in New York City. Yesterday’s corporate e-mail was made public which included a statement from CVS spokesman, David Palombi that read:

We have no plans to relocate Aetna’s operations from Hartford and, in fact, view Hartford as the future location of our center of excellence for the insurance business...

Do I detect a hint that not only are they staying, but that they may also expand their Hartford workforce? We’ll wait and see, but for the meantime, I’m going to go out and spend some coin at CVS today in honor of this new information!
