New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo made it official today and deemed Dutchess, Putnam, Sullivan and Westchester counties to be in a state of emergency, as residents aim to cope with destruction from Friday’s lethal storm.

Governor Cuomo also alerted the public as to the deployment of more New York National Guard members: 100 0f them to help New Yorkers recover according to the Patch.Com. The storm which brought high winds has left over 360,000 people with no power. Here’s Governor Cuomo’s statement to New Yorkers:

In the wake of this week's destructive winter storm, I am declaring a state of emergency across Dutchess, Putnam, Sullivan and Westchester Counties and am doubling the deployment of National Guard members assisting with recovery operations…This is an all-hands-on-deck situation and the people of the Hudson Valley should know that New York State is doing everything we can to restore power and help them recover as quickly as possible.
