It's the most wonderful time of the year, and just in time for all of the back-to-school shopping. It's Tax Free Days here in Connecticut, and we've got the dates and all the info you need to save.

It's the one time during the year when Connecticut residence can buy clothing and footwear free of sales tax. Many states only offer a single weekend of tax-free shopping, but here in Connecticut, we kick it up a few notches with an entire week where you can buy certain clothing and footwear that costs less than $100 per item, tax free.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Connecticut's tax free days starts this Sunday, August 20, and continues through Saturday, August 26.
  • According to patch.com, you can buy certain items of clothing and footwear that retail for under $100 and you will not have to pay any tax. So you'll save at least 6.35 percent.

There are, however, certain items that are not included during this tax free event. Here's the link:

So get ready to get the kids set and looking good as they head back to school. Feel free to get yourself something nice too. Hey, it's tax free after all. Enjoy!
