According to the News Times, a banana truck flipped over on I-84 near Waterbury exit 18 around 2 AM this morning.

The wreck shut down the east bound lanes in the Waterbury area until around 6 AM. The truck was carrying over 40,000 pounds of bananas. The Department of Consumer Protection even showed up to inspect the product -- that's a long day.

It's a good thing the monkey truck from the circus was not around, or things could have gotten much uglier. You see what I did there?

That's messed up that a simple thing like the transportation of bananas can shut down the highway. Have fun explaining that one to your boss.

"Hey Chief, sorry I am late. A friggin'  banana truck flipped on the highway!"

In related news, the employees of the Department of Consumer Protection and the highway department are now VERY constipated.

P.S. According to Food Matters bananas can help overcome depression. Bananas contain high levels of tryptophan which can be converted into serotonin in the human body.
