Cats Come to Connecticut Shelter from Hurricane Stricken South

Hurricane preparations have been going on in North and South Carolina over the past few days, and as Hurricane Florence has been nearing the East Coast, Pack Leaders Rescue in East Hartford has been part of those efforts.

According to US News and World Report, the Connecticut rescue has been able to take in about 40 cats in advance of the hurricane, from the Grand Strand Humane Society in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Currently, the cats are in foster homes, they've been thoroughly vetted and even micro chipped. Pack Leaders Rescue in East Hartford is seeking donations to continue providing veterinary care for the felines. A New York shelter took in some cats from the hurricane stricken area as well.

Here's to hoping all people and animals are safe and sound in North and South Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Florence.
